We didn't really do anything exciting on Sunday...except clean up our backyard and Chloe was grounded so she wasn't allowed to swim all weekend. She's experiencing for the first time what taking away privileges really means...not just for 1 day but for the weekend so she can feel it. So the only exciting thing she got to do this weekend was to go to 2 birthday parties...because we already RSVP'd to them and it would only be rude to change that up. So no movies, no TV, no swimming and no park (oh and no gummies) - tough weekend for her! Anyways, she didn't really care...it's not like we watch TV nor watch movies so swimming was really that got her. And the gummies was because she threw a tantrum about not having it for lunch at school...yes, that was the caused of her losing all privileges! It wouldn't have been so bad but she continued to go about it and started talking back and screaming and yelling and how she wants her Dad! Then after many times out and a spanking, she continued w/ her sour behavior and wasn't being nice to her sister so that just threw me over the edge! And this was a continuation throughout the day...meaning from she went to school and then coming back from school. I couldn't deal with her attitude -for goodness sake, she's only 4 and I feel like I'm dealing with a teenager who's slamming door and screaming and yelling...really??? So dramatic at this age already? Goodness, this mama don't play that kind of game so something got to give and if I have to take away everything that she loves, so be it! Steve who doesn't like to rock the boat with Chloe too much was actually on my side...thank God! I can tell that he thinks my punishment was a bit extreme when he heard that all privileges were revoke but he went along with it...if he was on the other side and having to deal with what I was dealing, he would have a better understanding. It's just hard when I'm the one that handles them on a higher percentage but it's also comforting when 2 parents join forces. I always tell him that I need him to back me up as I will always back him up especially when it come to our girls...this way, they know they can't be screaming "Daddy" thinking that he'll come save them.
Anyway my point being to our Sunday Fun Day didn't really happened on Sunday but on Monday. And it's more of a moment I had with Chloe that I thought that was cute. When I picked Chloe up from school on Monday, she has asked me a question that took me by surprised.
CHLOE: Mommy, when I drive, where are you going to sit?
Me: (not understanding the question) "What do you mean when you drive"?
CHLOE: Yeah, when I drive, where you gonna sit? Daddy, of course, is going to sit right there next to me. So where you gonna sit?
ME: Oh! Well, I guess where there's a sit open. And why are you asking me this question?
CHLOE: Well, you know, I will be driving.
ME: Yes, but not for a VERY long time...repeating it again, NOT for a VERY long time!
CHLOE: (giggles) Oh mommy, I know but just wanted to see where you would be sitting (she pauses) oh I know, you can sit in the middle...here, (she taps, in the middle back seat) next to Callie.
ME: Ok! Thanks.
Cute how she knows that her Dad "will of course sit right next to her" and me be in the back sit! (lol)
