Polar Express

Tumbleweed Park, which is a park in Chandler, hosted a Polar Express reading. Chloe and a bunch of Chloe's friends got invited.
(Conni & Diego, Robin & Mady, Kat & Avery, Denise & Max, Me & Chloe and Raquel & Alex)

Only 60 kids were invited so I felt very fortunate to have this adventure with Chloe. It was just me & Chloe night...along with her friends and their Mommies. (Yes, Callie stayed home with Steve). It was so exciting because I've been reading the book every naptime with her. It's our ritual thing for the month of December...we changed the pace a tiny bit. We typically read Fancy Nancy before she goes to bed. So we met up with some of our friends at Village Inn. The kids were dressed in their pajamas and ready to eat pancakes/eggs for dinner - it was delish! After dinner, we were ready for the extravaganza. When we arrive at the center, Santa's elves were there to greet us. Santa read us The Polar Express book and had a meet & greet w/ him afterwards. Each kid received "The 1st gift of Christmas". They provided cookies and hot cocoas for everyone. The kids got to do some arts & crafts. Not knowing what to expect since this was new to all of us, it turned out super cute. At first the kids were hoping to ride on a train but of course there wasn't any provided but they soon forgot about it when they had their cookies. I think overall, Chloe enjoyed herself. Her personality is so timid & shy, at most times, I feel like she looses out on such opportunity. When we were waiting in line to meet with Santa, Chloe managed to sit herself on the stage & got really close to Santa. A few times, the elves had to tell me that I need to move her becuase she was getting in the way. By the time it was her turn, she refused to be near him nor want to have her picture taken. It's so frustrating because she wants everything to be on her turn but unfortunately life doesn't always work that way...we got to roll with the punches. So at the end, she lost out meeting with Santa. She cried and tried to get sympathy from my Mommy friends but I refuse to allow them to cottle to her. At the end, she wanted to go & see him but I told her that he's busy visiting with the other kids who has been waiting a very long time to meet him. I think she enjoyed that fact that she saw him and she got to experience it with her friends.
