Chloe turns 2!!!

MOMMIE'S NOTE:

April 2nd:
My Mom has been here in Arizona for quite a few days. Our stay in Sedona was great - we enjoyed spending it w/ both my Mom & her friend, Pam. We stayed in a resort called Enchantment Resort. We were surrounded by beautiful red rocks. Both my Mom & Pam truly enjoyed their stay. My favorite part was eating at L'Auberge de Sedona - the restaurant & service was just excellent! The restaurant was set along the creek - it was so tranquil. I'm not even a spiritual person but any place that is set along the Creek is for me!!! Both my Mom & Pam have decided to make the trip to Sedona a yearly thing!

Today is actually Chloe's birthday. We met up w/ Steve for lunch as Cafe Boa - Chloe loves water fountains so we thought this was an ideal place to celebrate her 2nd birthday. She seemed to have enjoyed herself. She got a playhouse from us as her big gift. She got many new books, a new furniture for her room & a baby stroller & Baby Grand Piano from her Gaga!!!

My mom left on the 3rd - she's been really helping me organize the house- sort clothes & basically getting ready for Callie's arrival in July...yes, Steve has finally decided to go along with me. So it's official,  Callie Elizabeth Derouin is the name we have chosen! (Lovie, you cannot change your mind now...it's set in stone!!!) Anyways, it was really nice to have my mom around - she was a great help to me when Chloe was born. I didn't have to tell her or ask for anything. She pretty much knew what I needed! Unfortunately in July she won't be able to come & help out since she has a bookstore to run in Sun Valley, Idaho and it's a pretty busy season for them during the summer months. When she left, I actually started crying. I guess, it just validated that I won't have her around when Callie is born. But she'll be back again at the end of May & stay w/ us for a couple days to help finish what I need to get done before Callie arrives.

April 4th:

Chloe has been into this show Yo Gabba Gabba for quite sometime so both Steve & I thought it would only be fitting if we throw her a Yo Gabba Gabba theme party! Most of her friends don't really watch this show but Chloe loves them! We got a few items from  celebrateexpress.com to get the theme going Photobucket. We got the paper plates, napkins & a couple of the balloons to get the theme started...actually, that's probably all we did as far as the theme goes! We wanted it simple & celebrate it w/ a few good friends. For the most part, she enjoyed herserlf - I think from time to time both Steve & I could see that she would get a little overwhelmed. She's not used to seeing so many adults in one room - with our Mommy group, it's usually smaller & mostly kids & their mommies. At her party, we had some daddies & our adult friends that came to the party and bigger crowd than what she's used to in the house. She's very much like her Dad - the smaller the group, the better. Unlike me, I am all about the more the merrier so Steve had to remind me that this day is supposed to be about her & not me!!! So we had to narrow our invites & tried to make it smaller, which was really hard for me to do. But overall, I think it was a success - all the kids & adults seemed to have enjoyed themselves. And yes, Chloe got to eat cake this time around...a cupcake because she is 2 after all!!!
