SEPTEMBER

Chloe is almost potty trained. She is wearing underwear for the most part. She has gone to bed during her nap time in her underwear and hasn’t had any accidents. When we go anywhere, she now wears her underwear too. The only time she wears diaper/pull ups is during night time and when she has to go poop. She will go poop in the toilet but if she’s struggling to get them out, she would prefer to hang out in the playroom and make her grunting sound. I feel awful for her because I try to encourage her to drink a lot of water but for the most part she just wants to be left alone. So I have to co-hoarse her to get into her diaper so that she doesn’t poop in her underwear. She would cry & fight me but I would prefer to clean up the mess in her diaper rather than in her underwear. She is talkative as ever - loves to ask questions now. Everything is "what is that, Mommie/Daddie? It's really cute because she is actually having conversations with us. She still does her babble talk and we can't understand her but if she wants something or needs something, she can say it in sentences.

Callie turned 2 months old on September 8 and thriving! She is 9 lbs, 11oz and 23 inches long! She is better now. We thought she would need surgery but it seems like she had caught the virus...so that's good news. She is cooing so much more and loves to laugh. She likes to talk too- everytime I have conversations with her, she will definitely answer me. She has many similarities with Chloe. She definitely likes to flirt with her Daddie - it truly is the sweetest thing. She loves to watch her big sister dance around her. She’s trying to turn herself over which is a bit scary for me because I feel like she’s blossoming so quickly and I haven’t had the chance to really cherish her every change. I feel like I just woke up one night and we’ve passed the whole month!

Magic is great and healthy - loves the girls. He enjoys playing with Chloe and just adores Callie since she’s not mobile yet! If he had his way, he would just lick her to death! Has enjoyed having my Mom visiting since he’s never gotten so many treats since Mary Kaye was here to visit a couple months ago!

My mom came to visit us for a week. She was in Ireland for 3 weeks -being a tourist with her good friend, Pam. She was able to watch the girls for me for 1 day while I went to Portland for my girlfriend, Lindsay’s wedding. Steve and my Mom were on baby watch from Friday to Saturday night. It was my first time being away from both girls overnight! I think Steve appreciated my mom being there to help him with the 2 girls. Here I thought Callie would be the easiest to take care and it turned out Chloe was the easiest and Callie was the more difficult! I guess Callie was just not used to having someone else take care of her so it took a few trial & errors for both, Steve and my Mom, to figure out what was most comfortable for Callie. Nevertheless, they did an awesome job- I think they were both excited to have me back home! My mom’s visit went by so quickly - even Steve noticed it. We both felt like she only came for 3 days but we’ll be seeing her in December for a week so it won’t be long until we see her again.

Lindsay’s wedding was just beautiful - simple but very nice. She looked really good - a blushing bride should be! I got to meet her husband, Jack, for the first time. She looked truly happy and am very excited for the both of them. It was fun seeing my old high school friends again - it felt like a reunion. Since I went to a boarding school, it was like a family for me. So seeing some of them was really nice - it was nice to catch up and hang out with everyone!

Steve had to go to Las Vegas on the 24th and came back on the 27th - it was for both work & pleasure, of course. I don’t think my husband has ever gone to Vegas for strictly work! I think it was a nice little break for him since I was able to have my 1 day of fun. We are still working on trying to get a little vacation for ourselves since we weren’t able to celebrate our honeymoon but we’ll probably do a weekend getaway first before anything!

Other than that, I think September has been a full month for us, Derouin’s. Thankful that both girls are healthy and thriving. Steve still has a job and we still have a home to come home to.
